Richard W. Dycus, DDS, MAGD
Dr. Dycus graduated from the University of Tennessee with his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1987 after completing his undergraduate studies at Tennessee Tech University with a B.S. in chemistry. Dr. Dycus has been practicing in Cookeville since 1989. He keeps abreast of current dental and health issues by avidly pursuing continuing education; this is evidenced by his receiving Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry. This prestigious award is given to only those dentists who have completed over 1100 hours of continuing education in many specific fields of dentistry, and who have successfully passed the fellowship exam. Dr. Dycus is the current president of the Tennessee Dental Association, and he was named Dentist of the Year for 2009-2010. Dr. Dycus has been married to Patty (Moody) since 1982, and they have two children: Will, who is an avid golf player at Cookeville high school; and Megan, who is a student at Quillen College of Medicine.

Theresa Loftis – Administration Assistant
Having been with Dycus Dental since 2001, Theresa works with our patients in regard to their insurance/financial arrangement, while also reviewing treatment plans and scheduling appointments. She graduated from Livingston Vocational School as a medical assistant in 1994 and as a dental assistant in 2002. She is a current student at Volunteer State Community College, majoring in history. Theresa believes that the best part of being a part of our practice is the people she works with, both her coworkers and the patients. She loves seeing the results of great dentistry and seeing patients smile when they leave.
Theresa is married to Jim Loftis, and they have 5 kids: Mary Beth, Brittany, Nick, Ethan, and Dalton. They also have four grandchildren: Shaylee, Cyrus, Cloe, and Echo. Theresa’s hobbies include genealogy, civil war re-enactments, and anything historical. She loves to read and spend time with family and friends.
Jennifer Lindsay – Administration Assistant
Jennifer has been with us since 2015, and she handles all of our social media and advertising. She also helps our patients utilize their insurance benefits for treatment costs. Jennifer moved here from California in 2009, and she loves the family-like relationship with both patients and staff. She loves to help folks obtain their dream smile.
In her free time, Jennifer likes camping, hiking, and traveling. She has a daughter, Eisley and a fur-baby, Skye.
Tammie Garrett – Registered Dental Assistant
Tammie has been with Dycus Dental since 2003, and she contributes to the practice by treating all patients equal. She always tries to have a smile on her face. For Tammie, the best part of being with Dr. Dycus is the fact that most of the dental team has been at Dycus Dental for a long time, and everyone feels like family.
Tammie is the daughter of Velma Brown, and she is married to J.R. She and her husband have a grandson, Garrett.
LeeAnn Massengille – Registered Dental Hygienist
LeeAnn has been with our dental team since 1991, after she graduated from East Tennessee State University with honors that same year. She also received the Golden Scaler Award and was in the Sigma Phi Alpha Dental Hygiene Honors Society. LeeAnn also received ETSU’s Dental Hygiene Outstanding Student Award when she was in school. As a dental hygienist, LeeAnne helps provide the ultimate care for each and every patient, according to their individual needs. She considers her co-workers to be more like her family, and she loves being in a work environment that is full of laughter while caring for patients. She loves being able to work with and meet so many amazing families, and help them maintain healthy smiles of which they can feel proud.
LeeAnn married her husband, James, in 1996, and they have three sons: James Matthew, who is a sophomore at Cumberland University and playing football; Clay, who is a junior at CHS and playing football; and Jack, a 6th grader who is on basketball team at ATMS. In her free time, LeeAnne enjoys visiting the lake, snow skiing, water skiing, football, and doing anything outside.
Heather Medley – Registered Dental Hygienist
Heather joined Dycus Dental in 2014. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Chattanooga State Community College, receiving her degree in dental hygiene in 2012. She also received the Golden Scaler Award and was a member of the Sigma Phi Alpha Honors Society. Heather loves being a part of our dental team, and she finds her work very rewarding. She enjoys being part of a team that has a common goal of helping each patient leave our office with a positive experience and a smile on their face; to Heather, that is the greatest reward! As a dental hygienist, Heather provides quality preventive care and educates patients by explaining their treatment and how it best suits their needs.
Heather moved here from Dalton, Georgia in 2012. She is married to Zac and expecting their first child in March 2018. She enjoys traveling, UGA football, Predators hockey, and Atlanta Braves baseball.
Carter Lamb – Dental Hygienist
Carter joined the Dycus Dental team in 2018. She graduated from Tennessee State University in 2015 and served as the class secretary. She moved to Cookeville in 2018 from Macon, Georgia.
Carter loves her coworkers and the family atmosphere at our office. She enjoys giving specific care to each of our patients and has a positive attitude, and a smile on her face every day!
Carter married her husband Tre in 2015. When she is not at the office she enjoys traveling, exercising, reading and watching Tennessee Tech football games.
Bridget Dawn Hayes – Registered Dental Assistant
Bridget has been with Dycus Dental since 2018 and is always friendly, happy and willing to do anything that needs to be done around the office. She went to Volunteer State Community College for two years before getting her RDA license and nitrous monitoring certification. She assists Dr. Dycus and finds that the best part of being at this practice is that everyone is like family.
Bridget has three girls and a fiancé named John. She loves spending time with them and doing anything outdoors, as well as playing golf and traveling.
